Kombucha Mama came to us for a packaging refresh. But the more we explored with them, the more we understood their vision to make the benefits of kombucha more accessible to more people in more places. And the more we knew we had to honor this vision in a big way. 


The Kombucha Mama founders wanted to make the benefits of kombucha more accessible to more people in more places and to move beyond the fringe. 

This guided us toward a more genuine expression of their brand through a new name, identity, bottle form, car wrap, print advertising and point-of-purchase, plus new label art by Philippines illustrator Kerby Rosanes and new web site designed in collaboration with Thoughtful Co.—all of which created a platform and a lexicon for talking about their brand in a way that celebrated their purpose and invited their growing community to embrace that purpose with them. And embrace it they did.


After the launch, humm kombucha saw dramatic spikes in everything from case sales to social media engagement—their Instagram feed, for example, continues to be living, breathing homage to the humm brand. But perhaps the most satisfying evidence of success is seeing humm kombucha in more channels—from convenience stores to discount grocery—and in more hands.
